Fishing (River & Sea)
An organised driven shoot of pheasants and partridges is run over
1450 acres from September to January. Bags vary from 150 to 450.
Most of the drives are over deep wooded valleys giving really testing
birds. All drives are withing walking distance of the house.
The estate has salmon and sewin (sea trout) fishing over several
beats through the local angling club. We also have a small boat
for hire for sea fishing mostly mackerel and bass.
Due to the varied habitat and coastline there is an abundance of
song, estuary and birds of prey, including red kites. Bring your binoculars!
A large number of interesting walks are available, varying from
our own woods, coastal and cliff walks to fairly easy mountain rambles.
There are many bridle paths in the immediate area suitable for
gentle hacking. as well as our own woods and farmland.
Local livery yards available or stable on the estate for your own horses.
There are many local castles to explore, from our local Dinerth
castle, just half a mile away down the valley, which was last sacked
in 1062, to Aberystwyth Cilgerran.
